Abstract
This Ordinance provides for the establishment of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority and defines its internal organization.
Powers and functions of the Authority include: granting licences for the carrying out of regulated activities including the supply of natural gas, construction or operation of pipelines for natural gas or oil, and the construction or operation of natural gas or oil installations; promoting and ensuring the observance of efficient practices in the transmission, distribution, processing, refining, marketing, storage of petroleum and transportation of petroleum by pipelines; etc.
The Ordinance further provides for: establishment of an Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority Fund; powers of the Federal Government to issue policy guidelines to the Authority; offences; rule and regulation making powers of the Authority; etc.
