Abstract
This Ordinance provides for the establishment of the Sindh Wildlife Management Board for the preservation, conservation and management of wildlife in Sindh.
The Government may impose restrictions on the hunting, import, export and transfer of wild animals, trophies and meat.
The Ordinance prohibits the use of hawks or dogs without a special licence and sets out provisions on the possession of wild animals, trophies or meat. The Government may declare any area to be a wildlife sanctuary, a national park or a game reserve. Unless in possession of a special authorization, the acts provided for in sections 14 and 15 shall be prohibited in the aforementioned areas.
The Ordinance further provides for: offences and relevant penalties to be applied in case of contravention; powers of officers authorized by the Government to seize any wild animal, dead or alive; rule making powers of the Government; a list of animals which may be hunted on an ordinary Hunting Permit and a list of protected animals (see the Schedules); etc.
