Abstract
This Regulation of the Minister of Environment, which is composed of 23 paragraphs and five Annexes, establishes forms and methods of monitoring homogeneous surface water bodies and groundwater, including: (1) types and objectives of monitoring; (2) criteria for the selection of water bodies for monitoring; (3) criteria for determining measurement points; (4) the scope and frequency of monitoring; (5) reference methodologies and conditions for ensuring the quality of monitoring. Monitoring of uniform surface water bodies shall be carried out in a way which enables obtaining a coherent and comprehensive assessment of the ecological status or ecological potential, chemical status of surface water in each river basin and assigning one of five water quality classes to uniform surface water bodies, and quantitative presentation of spatial variability of water quality indicators for biological, hydromorphological, physicochemical and chemical elements.
