Abstract
This Regulation of the Minister of Environment, which is composed of seven articles and one Annex, lays down criteria characterizing serious accidents, subject to the obligation of reporting to the Chief Inspector of Environmental Protection by authorities competent to combat serious accidents, deadlines for reporting major accidents, and the scope of information contained in the notification of a major accident. Notification is required for major accidents that meet one of the criteria: (1) were result of fire, explosion or release in the course of an industrial process at least 5% of the amount of hazardous substances; (2) were the result of fire, explosion or release during the industrial process, storage or transport of hazardous substances; (3) resulted from the release during storage or transport of any substance which, due to its properties or quantity, may be hazardous to life, human health or the environment.
