Abstract
This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, which is composed of six articles, aims to minimize the risk of Newcastle disease introduction and spread among poultry through vaccination, movement restrictions, enhanced biosecurity, and disease monitoring. It lays down measures to prevent the spread of the disease. Key provisions include: (1) mandatory vaccination programs for chickens and turkeys; (2) restrictions on the movement and introduction of unvaccinated poultry and eggs from certain farms; (3) requirements for laboratory testing of vaccinated birds to evaluate immune response; (4) strict biosecurity measures in poultry farms, such as disinfection mats, disinfectant use, and maintaining cleanliness around the facilities; (5) immediate reporting of clinical signs in poultry, including increased mortality, neurological symptoms, respiratory issues, and abnormal eggs; (6) prohibition of waterfowl access to water sources that may be contaminated with wild birds; (7) measures ensuring all poultry are kept in sealed environments to prevent contact with wild birds; (8) detailed vaccination schemes, including the choice of vaccines, scheduling, and monitoring for effectiveness.
