Abstract
This Decree-Law ensures the implementation in the internal legal order of Regulation (EU) No. 2017/852 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2017 on mercury and repealing Regulation (EC) No 1102/2008 (Regulation). The Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG) is responsible for coordinating the preparation and implementation of the national plan on artisanal and small-scale gold mining and processing, if applicable under the terms of Article 9(2) of the Regulation. The Directorate-General for Health is responsible for coordinating the preparation and implementation of the national plan on measures for the gradual elimination of the use of dental amalgam. It is under the responsibility of the entities responsible for inspection and supervision to provide APA, I.P., as the authority responsible for monitoring the implementation of this Decree-Law, with the data and information necessary to fulfil its reporting obligations to the European Commission. The import of mercury and mercury mixtures listed in Annex I to the Regulation, for authorized use in a Member State, may be permitted, subject to the issue of an import authorization by APA, I.P..
