Abstract
This Decree-Law, consisting of 35 articles divided into 6 Chapters, regulates the institutional system and functioning procedures for Forestry Intervention Areas (ZIF). In particular, the main objectives of the ZIF are: a) Promote the sustainable management of the forest areas; b) Coordinate, in a planned manner, the protection of forest and natural areas; c) Reduce the conditions of ignition and propagation of fires; d) Coordinate the recovery of forest and natural areas when affected by fires; e) Give territorial coherence and effectiveness to the action of the central and local administration and of other agents involved in forestry areas.
