Abstract
The present Decree-Law, in compliance with EU Council Directive No. 92/116/EU of 17 December, establishes sanitary procedures for the production and placing on the market of poultry meat (it also includes sanctions for non-compliance). This Decree-Law is divided into 9 annexes. Annex A deals with sanitary requirements specifying: poultry species, methods for meat conservation, animal parts, sanitary certification, inspection "ante and post mortem", transport, slaughtering requirements, competent veterinary authority certificate, trade between the Community and third countries, etc.). Annex B concerns general requirements for approving poultry slaughterhouses, hygiene measures, sanitary inspection "ante and post mortem", sanitary controls on meat storage, meat marking, etc. Annex C prescribes general requirements for approving poultry slaughterhouses, etc. Specific forms, regarding sanitary certificate requirements are attached to the remaining annexes.
