Decree-Law No. 171/2009 creating the Fund for the Nature and Biodiversity Protection and Conservation.

This Decree-Law, consisting of 10 articles, creates the Fund for the Nature and Biodiversity Protection and Conservation. It establishes composition, duties and competencies of this institution, the aim of which is the conservation, management, research and a sustainable development of the Portuguese biodiversity. The objectives of this Fund are the following: support biodiversity, endangered species and nature conservation projects; promote research and projects contributing to the extension of the protected areas included into the RFCN, etc.
