Abstract
This Decree-Law creates the Environmental Fund for the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation, under the responsibility of the environmental sector of the Government. The purpose of the Fund is to support environmental policies for the pursuit of sustainable development objectives, contributing to the fulfilment of national and international objectives and commitments, namely those relating to climate change, water resources, waste and nature conservation and biodiversity, by financing entities, activities or projects that meet objectives, such as: Mitigation of climate change, through actions that contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and thus to the fulfilment of targets, namely in the field of renewable energies and energy efficiency in the residential and productive sectors in the case of small and medium-sized enterprises, and in the field of transport, etc.
