Abstract
The Decree-Law regulates Hunting Act No. 173/99 and establishes the requirements to be satisfied in order to perform this activity. It consists of 16 chapters and 1 annex divided as follows: General provisions (chap. 1); Conservation of animal species, establishing the restrictions to be applied particularly in order to protect animals during mating seasons (chap. 2); Management of hunting resources, defining authorized hunting areas (chaps. 3 and 4); Right to Non-Hunting areas (chap. 5); Hunting activity (chap. 6); Ranch and breeded animal species (chap. 7); Hunting products keeping and trade (chap. 8); Animal density management (chap. 9); Classificated areas (chap. 10); Controls and sanctions (chap. 11); Alcool or narcotics use (chap. 12); Administration and hunting controls (chap. 13); Hunting associations (chap. 14); Social participation and Final provisions (chaps. 15 and 16). Annex specifies animal species to be caught.
