Abstract
This Decree-Law ensures the implementation and guarantees compliance with the provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 October 2009 laying down health rules concerning animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption, as well as the respective implementing Commission Regulation (EU) No. 142/2011 of 25 February 2011. It also regulates the financing of the system for collecting the bodies of animals that die in establishments where bovine, ovine, caprine and porcine species are kept, namely livestock farms, livestock warehouses, breeding centres and slaughterhouses, known as SIRCA.
