Abstract
This Decree-Law (divided into 6 articles and 28 annexes) creates Special Protected Zones (ZPE) in order to protect all bird species, bird nests and habitats. These zone are: Estuary of Minho and Coura Rivers, 'Serra do Gerês', 'Serras de Montesinho' and 'Nogueira', 'Aveiro' Stream, 'Paul de Arzila', 'Paul de Madriz', 'Serra da Malcata', 'Paul do Boquilobo', 'Berlengas' Islands, 'Sado' Estuary, 'Açude da Murta', 'Santo André' and 'Sancha' Lakes, Southern-East coast, 'Leixão da Gaivota', 'Formosa' Stream, 'Sapais de Castro Marim', 'Sabor' and 'Maçãs' Rivers, Douro Internacional and Valley of 'Águeda' River, Valley of 'Côa', 'Paul do Taipal', 'Tejo' Internacional, 'Erges and Ponsul', 'Campo Maior', 'Moura/Mourão/Barrancos', 'Castro Verde', Valley of 'Guadiana' River, 'Lagoa Pequena' and 'Cabo Espichel'. The limits of the aforesaid Special Protected Zones are specified in the annexes.
