Abstract
This Decree-Law establishes measures for the contained use of genetically modified micro-organisms and organisms for the protection of human health and the environment, transposing Directive 2009/41/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 May 2009. It approves the regime for the contained use of genetically modified micro-organisms (GMMs) and genetically modified organisms (GMOs), with a view to protecting human health and the environment, transposing into national law Directive 2009/41/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 May 2009 on the contained use of genetically modified micro-organisms. It applies to the making available of GMMs and GMOs for use in contained use activities, with the aim of limiting their contact with the general population and the environment and providing a high level of safety.
