Abstract
This Decree-Law approves the Institute for Wine and Vineyard (IVV, I.P) (Instituto da Vinha e do Vinho, I. P.) is a public institute within the indirect administration of the State, endowed with administrative and financial autonomy and its own assets. The IVV, I. P., fulfils the duties of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Sea, the Environment and Territorial Planning (MAMAOT), under the superintendence and supervision of the respective minister. The IVV, I. P., is a central organisation with jurisdiction over the entire national territory. The IVV, I. P.'s mission is to coordinate and control the institutional organisation of the wine sector, audit the quality certification system, monitor Community policy and preparing the rules for its application, as well as participate in coordinating and supervising the promotion of wine products.
