Abstract
This Decree-Law transposes into national legislation EU Council Directive No. 2004/68/EC of 26 April 2004 laying down animal health rules for the importation into and transit through the Community of certain live ungulate animals. The importation and transit of live ungulates into national territory shall only be authorised where they come from third countries appearing on a list or lists to be drawn up or amended in accordance with the Community procedure. The authorization to import or transit live ungulates into the Community provided for in the text, as well as the specific animal health conditions provided for in Article 6(3), may be suspended or cancelled in accordance with the Community procedure laid down where the animal health situation in the authorized third country so warrants.
