Abstract
This Decree-Law, consisting of 48 articles divided into nine chapters and three Annexes regulates the production, control, certification and marketing of fruit plants propagating material and fruit plants intended for fruit production, as well as the arrangements applicable to their varieties, for National Register of Fruit Varieties (RNVF). This Decree-Law also regulates the production, control and marketing of propagating and planting material of vegetable and horticultural species, with the exception of seeds. It applies only to fruit and vegetable materials intended for marketing, varieties and species which are entered in the RNVF or in the Common List. It also applies to fruit and vegetable materials of genetically modified varieties, in compliance with provisions of special legislation. The fruit and vegetables species not listed in Tables I of Part A of Annexes I and II to this Decree-law are excluded from the aim of this Decree, as well as those intended for: a) ornamental purposes; b) scientific tests or purposes, selection and conservation of genetic diversity; c) export to third countries.
