Decree-Law No. 94/2015 creating the multi-municipal system of water supply and sanitation for Lisbon and Tagus Valley area.

This Decree-Law, consisting of six Chapters and one Annex (of five Chapters and five Annexes), creates the multi-municipal system of water supply and sanitation for Lisbon and Tagus Valley. In addition, it creates the Águas de Lisboa e Vale do Tejo SA" (Lisbon and Tagus Valley Water Company) entitled of the exploitation and management of multi-municipal system of water supply and sanitation Lisbon for these areas, which constitutes a public service to exercise on an exclusive basis. The above mentioned multi-municipal system is responsible for: collection, treatment and supply of water for public consumption and collection, treatment and rejection and domestic sewage, effluent resulting from the mixture of domestic wastewater with industrial and rain water effluents and comply with operating rules and service on the wastewater sanitation activity, the respective treatment and disposal, which should be carried out on a regular, continuous and efficient basis.
