Government Resolution No. 114/2006 on the National Forestry Strategy.

This Resolution approves the National Strategy for forests. Particular attention is paid to bio fuels originating from wood and forests, prevention and fight against forest fires, wood diseases, protection of biodiversity and Natural resources. The objectives of the National Strategy on Forestry cover the following areas: 1. Forest Resources Value; 2. Changes in Context and New Risks; Climate change; Fires; Pests, Diseases and Invasive Plants; International Integration and Market Risks; 2.6 Democratization and Urbanization; Strategy; 3.2 Minimization of Fire Risks and Biotic Agents (A); Fuel Management Through Grazing (A.1.2); Protection against Harmful Biotic Agents (A2); Recovery and Rehabilitation of Affected Forest Ecosystems (A3); Regional Planning; 3.3 Peculiarity of Territory Specialization and its Operationalization; 3.4 Improving Productivity through Sustainable Forest Management (W); 3.5 Reducing Market Risks and Increasing Product Value (D); Forest Certification (D1); 3.6 General Improvement of Sector Efficiency and Competitiveness (E); Forest Cadastre (E2); Sector Agents Qualification (E4); Application of Scientific Knowledge (E5); Rationalization and Simplification of Policy Instruments (F); Organic, Legal and Planning Instruments (F1); Financial Instruments to Support Competitiveness (F2); 3.8 Implementation of the Strategy; Matrix of Responsibilities, Indicators; and Evaluation. This Strategy covers also the Autonomous Regions of Madeira and Azores.
