Abstract
This Order, consisting of 7 articles, establishes a participatory regime of management and monitoring for the traditional "xávega" surrounding-net fishing. In addition, it establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of a Commission entitled to carry out the follow-up and monitoring of surrounding-net fisheries, coordinated by the Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services (DGRM). The Order specifies requirements and conditions to carry out this fishing method, which under article 7 of Order No. 1102-F/2000, as amended by Order No. 244/2005 establishes special conditions relating to: cessation of fishing activity for reasons specified in the text; control of landings and conditions of sale and the installation of acoustic deterrent equipment.

Entry into force notes
This Order enter into force on the day after its publication, except for the installation of acoustic deterrent equipment provided for in article 5, which shall apply on 1 January 2018.
