Order No. 213/96 approving EU Commission Directive No. 95/44/EU of 26 July (establishing requirements for the importation and circulation of plants, harmful organisms and plant products within EU territory as well as protected zones for scientific purposes and plant varieties selection).

This Order, in compliance with the rules set forth by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries (MADRP Ministério da Agricultura, do Desenvolvimento Rural e das Pescas ), specifies permit requirements for the importation and circulation of plants, harmful organisms, plant products or other material for scientific purposes (e.g. selection of plant varieties), within EU territory or EU protected zones. It also contains a model import permit application form (annexes I, II and III specify the objects of scientific activities, quarantine measures, a copy of the aforesaid model application form and a list of plant diseases for laboratory analysis).
