Order No. 51/2022 approving the rules for commercial fishing in the non-maritime inland waters of the Aveiro lagoon.

This Order approves the regulatory rules for commercial fishing in the non-maritime inland waters of the Aveiro lagoon. It also regulates, in the cases expressly provided, the exercise of recreational fishing in non-maritime inland waters of the Aveiro lagoon. This Order applies to the non-oceanic inland waters of the Aveiro lagoon, as well as the respective beds and banks belonging to the public water domain, up to the line that joins the ends of the north and south breakwaters of the entrance to the bay, under the jurisdiction of the Captaincy from the Port of Aveiro. Commercial fishing in these areas is limited to the use of open-deck local fishing vessels referred to in article 28 of Decree-Law No. 73/2020 of 23 September. Catchers and pedestrian fishermen duly authorized by the Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services (DGRM) may also carry out commercial fishing in those areas, under the terms of the ordinance regulating professional fishing on foot. Article 7 deals with the maximum daily catch for bivalve species, or the banning of certain areas for catching due to reasons of public health and food safety, both to professional and amatorial fishing. It is mandatory to weigh the bivalves captured at one of the transfer points of Docapesca Portos e Lotas, S.A., in the area.
