Abstract
This Regional Legislative Decree, consisting of 10 Chapters and 13 Annexes, implements the basic legislation on protected wildlife established by Directive 2009/147/EC and Directive 2009/147/EC of the European Parliament within the Autonomous Region of Azores. It specifies protected areas, protected animal species, protecting measures, etc. in order to preserve the regional biodiversity, through the protection of wildlife natural habitats. Controls and inspections are prescribed in Chap. 10. Maps of the protected areas and list of protected species are appended to the text.
