Government Resolution No. 41 validating Veterinary Sanitary Norm regarding the conditions for the organization and operation of veterinary pharmaceutical units, the conditions for the sale of veterinary medicinal products and other products for pets, in shops for the sale of pets and/or food for them, the operating conditions of means of transport in the field of veterinary pharmaceuticals, as well as the sanitary-veterinary authorization of units, activities and means of transport in the field of veterinary pharmaceuticals.

Abstract
This Sanitary-Veterinary Norm establishes the conditions for the organization and operation of veterinary pharmaceutical units, the conditions for the sale of veterinary medicinal products and other products for pets, in shops for the sale of pets and/or food for them, the operating conditions of means of transport in the field of veterinary pharmaceuticals, as well as the sanitary-veterinary authorization of units, activities and means of transport in the field of veterinary pharmaceuticals. It shall be applicable to veterinary pharmaceutical units - veterinary pharmacies, veterinary pharmaceutical points, veterinary pharmaceutical warehouses, veterinary medicinal product manufacturing/import units, which carry out their activity on the basis of the sanitary - veterinary operation authorization issued by the competent sanitary - veterinary authority. Veterinary pharmaceutical units must carry out only the following activities: (a) manufacturing of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations; (b) wholesale trade of veterinary pharmaceutical products; (c) retail trade of veterinary pharmaceutical products; (d) storage of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations; and (e) the transport of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations. All veterinary pharmaceutical units must conclude a contract with a specialized commercial company for the destruction and denaturation of expired or damaged products. In veterinary pharmacies it is forbidden to keep and sell products of biological medicine. Injectable antibiotics as well as injectable and internally administered antiparasitic products, which have as indication the animals from which food can be obtained, are marketed only to veterinarians organized according to the law, on the basis of a medical prescription. The release of veterinary medicinal products, as well as other products for animals, is done only by retail, self-service being prohibited. In veterinary pharmacies, it is allowed to sell combined feed, complementary feed and feed intended for special nutritional/dietary purposes, packed in bags of maximum 10 kg and labelled according to the specific provisions in in force, only if these units have a place intended for this purpose, so that there is no interference with other products from the veterinary pharmacy.
