Law on restitution of confiscated property and compensation.

This Law regulates the conditions, manner and procedure of returning confiscated property and compensation for confiscated property, which is on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. This process shall be applied in relation with properties confiscated on the basis of previous agrarian reform, nationalization process, sequestration, as well other based on the acts of nationalization, after 9 March 1945, and regards properties confiscated form their legitimate owners.
This Law also applies to the return of property whose confiscation is consequence of the Holocaust on the territory that today constitutes the territory of the Republic of Serbia. The right to return property under the provisions of this Law may be exercised for property confiscated by application of laws and regulations as listed in article 2. Application of the Law on the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija is indicated in article 65: the effective implementation of this Law on the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija shall be regulated upon the cessation of the functioning of the international administration established in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244.
