Order on taking measures to prevent the introduction of the infectious disease foot-and-mouth disease into the Republic of Serbia.

This Order sets specific hygiene-sanitary measures aimed to prevent the introduction of the infectious animal foot-and-mouth disease (or FMD) into the Republic of Serbia. This Order here prohibits the introduction of (import and transit) of the following: 1) live domestic cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and other domestic and wild ungulates; 2) meat originating from domestic cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and other domestic and wild ungulates; 3) meat products originating from domestic cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and other domestic and wild ungulates, except for meat products originating from domestic cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and other domestic and wild ungulates, heat-treated in a hermetically sealed container (can), with an achieved Fo value of three or more (Fo=3 or Fo>3); 4) milk and milk products originating from domestic cattle, sheep, goats and other domestic ungulates, except for milk treated at ultra-high temperature (UHT); 5) other products of animal origin for human consumption, originating from bovine animals, pigs, sheep, goats and other domestic and wild ungulates, except gelatine; 6) deep-frozen semen and embryos originating from bovine animals, pigs, sheep and goats; 7) hides and skins originating from bovine animals, pigs, sheep, goats and other domestic and wild ungulates (with some exceptions, see point 7 in article 1 of this text); 8) animal by-products originating from bovine animals, pigs, sheep, goats and other domestic and wild ungulates, except: (1) processed animal proteins, (2) dehydrated pet food; 9) biological material (blood and organs) for the purpose of performing diagnostic tests unless safety standards, guidelines and the code of good practice have been complied with when packaging samples on/in appropriate media and packaging; 10) as well as means of transport for the transport and transportation of live animals, as a possible carrier of the causative agent, as well as if they have not been treated against the causative agent of FMD, and 24 hours have not passed since the moment of treatment.
