Abstract
This Law prescribes the: complete set of necessary measures and standards aimed to regulate the protection and improvement of animal health and welfare, the methods and procedures for the control, prevention of the spread, prevention and eradication of infectious diseases in animals and diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans, animal health controls and conditions for the production and transport of animals, animal products, animal feed origin, animal feed provisions, as well as the conditions for carrying out veterinary activities on the territory of the Republic of Serbia.
Animals in terms of this text are domestic poppies and ungulates (domestic cattle, including the genus Bubalus and Bison, pig, sheep, goats and domestic ungulates including horses, donkeys, mules and mules), poultry (feed birds including chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, carrots, birds that are not considered domestic, but they behave like domestic animals, except in installments); installments (ostrich, emu, rea, moa and kiwi); lagomorphs (zebras, owls and other rodents); savage (savage poppies, ungulates or lagomorphs, other land mammals that are hunted for food people and who are considered free savages according to valid regulations, inclusive mammals which lives in fenced territories in free conditions similar to those living in free-ranging and wild bird hunted for human food); also other animals and birds such as low poultry (animals and birds in the zoo, dogs, cats, bees, silkworms, wild animals, lizards, laboratory and experimental animals); fish and other aquatic animals (sea or freshwater animals, except live shells and other mollusks) reptile and frog without considering whether they are wild or farmed); shellfish and other mollusks; snails (terrestrial gastropod Helix pomatia Linne, Helix aspersa Muller, Helix lucorum and species such as Achatinidae). This Law further defines: all related technical terms and definitions, vaccination requirements and obligations, international and national trading rules governing the commercial sector, duties and responsibilities of the competent bodies including all inspection related affairs, and offences and penalties.
This Law also amends certain technical and editing provisions of the previous printings of the Veterinary Law (Official Gazette 91/2005) and represents its consolidated and updated versions that will be used as the integral text of the new Serbian Veterinary Law.
The Law is divided into 104 articles.
