Regulation on control of production capacities and assessment of the reproductive value of domestic animals.

This Regulation determines the method of performing control of the production capabilities of domestic animals, methods for assessing the breeding value of domestic animals, the content and method of maintaining a collection of data on the control of production capabilities and other characteristics of domestic animals, as well as the procedure and method of evaluating and classifying quality breeding domestic animals into classes. The control of the production capabilities of domestic animals is carried out by breeding organizations and organizations with special authorizations, which meet the requirements in accordance with the law regulating livestock breeding. The assessment of the breeding value of domestic animals is carried out using methods that are scientifically applicable in the field of zootechnics and that include internationally recognized rules and standards. If the methods referred to in paragraph 2 of article 3 of this text cannot be applied when assessing the breeding value of domestic animals, the methods specified by ICAR shall be applied. The International Committee for Animal Recording (or ICAR) is an organization whose aim is to promote and improve activities related to the identification, recording of production traits and assessment of domestic animals.
