Abstract
This Law prescribes all basic, technical, administrative and other specific rules, measures and standards aimed to regulate various aspect of the farming, livestock sector and livestock related activities on the territory of the Serbian Republic, with a particular aim on: goals in livestock; subjects in livestock and their organizational forms; breeding objectives and implementation of the breeding program; control over the productivity and preservation characteristics of domestic animals; breeding of domestic animals; cultivation of bees; aquaculture; growing wildlife; preservation of genetic reserves of domestic animals and biological diversity in livestock; production and trade of plant origin food/feed for domestic animals and products of animal origin; traffic with breeding material, as well as other issues of importance to animal husbandry.
The provisions of this Law apply to: cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, pigs, poultry, furry, rabbits, bees, specific wildlife, fish and other aquatic organisms and other reared animals.
The Law is divided into 17 Chapters and 97 articles, including all offences and penalties.
Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
