Abstract
This Regulation determines the ecological network of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the manner of managing and financing the ecological network, in order to preserve biological and landscape diversity, habitat types of special importance for conservation, restoration and/or improvement of disturbed habitats and for the purpose of conservation of certain species.
The ecological network consists of: 1) ecologically significant areas; 2) ecological corridors that connect ecologically important areas present on the national territory, as corridors of national importance and ecological corridors that enable connection with ecological networks of neighboring countries, in accordance with international regulations and considered as ecological corridors of international importance; 3) protection zone where it is necessary to protect ecologically significant areas and ecological corridors from possible harmful external influences. Ecologically significant areas of the European Union NATURA 2000 will be identified and become part of the European ecological network NATURA 2000 on the day of the accession of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union (article 14).
The Annex is part of this publication (Annex 1-List of recognized ecologically significant areas on the territory of the Republic of Serbia; Annex 2-Ecological network protection measures; and Annex 3-Protection measures for protection zones).
