Abstract
This Regulation prescribes a set of rules aimed food supplements placed on the market as food, where they are present as such (Annex contain all related technical sheets and indications, among labelling indications). Dietary supplements are foods that supplement the usual diet, and which represent concentrated sources of nutrients or other ingredients with a nutritional or physiological effect, individually or in combination, and are marketed in dosage forms such as capsules, lozenges, tablets and the like, sachets of powder, ampoules of liquid, bottles with a dropper, and other similar forms of liquids and powders intended for intake in small, dosed quantities. These products can be placed on the market only in packaged form. Dietary supplements may be placed on the market of the Republic of Serbia only if they meet the conditions set out in this text. Food supplements must comply with the microbiological criteria set out in Annex V. The maximum permitted amounts of vitamins and minerals in food supplements for adults in the amount of product recommended for daily intake are given in Annex III.
