Regulation on incentives for the conservation of plant genetic resources.

This Regulation, as in accordance with the provisions of the Serbian Law on incentives in agriculture and rural development, determines all possible types of incentives for the conservation of plant genetic resources, including conditions, manner of exercising the right to obtain such incentives, the form of request for exercising the right to incentives. This text further sets all maximum amounts of incentives per user and type of incentives. Incentives include support for programmes related to sustainable rural development implemented with the aim of improving environmental protection, as follows: 1) programme for preservation and maintenance of the national ex situ collection in seeds; 2) programme for conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources; and 3) programme for the implementation of special projects in the field of conservation of plant genetic resources. Plant genetic resources are those old varieties and local populations, including domesticated varieties entered or deleted from the Register of varieties of agricultural plants maintained by the Ministry responsible for agriculture (agricultural plants, cereals, fodder plants, industrial plants and horticultural plants, fruit trees, vines, hops, medicinal and aromatic herbs used for food and agriculture).
