Regulation on the List of genetic reserves of domestic animals, the manner of preserving the genetic reserves of domestic animals, as well as on the List of autochthonous breeds of domestic animals and endangered autochthonous breeds.

This Regulation provides for the updated List of genetic reserves of domestic animals, and sets the manner for the preservation of such genetic reserves of domestic animals. This text also sets out the List of autochthonous breeds of domestic animals and endangered autochthonous breeds, which further contains the criteria for determining endangered breeds.
Domestic animal genetic reserves include certain breeds and strains of domestic animals, which are kept in the form of a minimum number of domestic animals, doses of seeds, eggs, embryos, somatic cells, DNA or other biological material that can be used to reconstitute the animal. The List of genetic reserves of domestic animals is determined depending on the type of animal and of its desired sex ratio, and represents the minimum number of domestic animals (adults) of a particular species, as required for breeding and preservation of their genetic diversity. The list of genetic reserves of domestic animals is in Annex 1; the List of autochthonous breeds of domestic animals and endangered autochthonous breeds is given in Annex 2.
