Abstract
This Regulation prescribes maximum concentrations of certain contaminants in food. The maximum concentrations of certain contaminants in food shall be applied to the edible part of the food, unless otherwise specified in the Regulations. Specific topics covered by these rules are related to the following: dried, diluted, processed and complex foods (article 3); prohibition of use, mixing and detox (article 4); special provisions for peanuts, seeds of others oilseeds, kernels, dried fruits, rice and maize (article 5); special provisions for lettuce (article 7); and special provisions for acrylamide (article 8). For mitigation measures aimed at reducing the presence of acrylamide in food, see articles 9 and 10.
The Annex is also part of this publication (containing the list of maximum concentrations of certain contaminants in food; reference levels for the presence of acrylamide in food; measures to mitigate the effects of food business operators producing and placing on the market foods at risk for acrylamide production; mitigation measures applied by small food business entities; and sampling and testing requirements for monitoring acrylamide levels in food).

Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette, with the exception of the provisions of article 2 (paragraphs 4 and 5), and articles 8, 9 and 10 that shall be applied starting 1 January 2020.
