Abstract
This Regulation proclaims that one of the last preserved wetland habitats, the old meander of the river Velika Morava near the village of Brzan, is declared as protected area of great importance, classified in category II as a special nature reserve called "Brzansko moravište".
The special nature reserve "Brzansko moravište" is placed under protection, as an area important from the aspect of protection of wetland birds because it is part of the migration corridor, but it also provides conditions for nesting of many rare and protected bird species. About 60 strictly protected bird species regularly live in this area, of which about 30 also nest. The special nature reserve "Brzansko moravište" is of exceptional importance as a reproductive center for several species of amphibians and reptiles, and for the preservation of the overall biodiversity of the area.
