Government Decision No. 2145 validating the Rules for the provision of information (data) on ongoing scientific research in the field of biological safety and monitoring of developments in the field of biological safety, as well as the development of products, including those created using genetically-engineering technologies and synthetic biology technologies.

These Rules determine the procedure for providing information (data) about ongoing scientific research in the field of biological safety performed by organizations regardless of their organizational and legal form and form of ownership, and monitoring developments in the field of biological safety, as well as the development of products, including those created using genetically-engineering technologies, and synthetic biology technologies. Directions of scientific research: - conducting scientific research on pathogenic biological agents, including: (a) studying the properties of pathogens that pose a risk of the emergence and spread of infectious diseases; (b) changes in the properties and forms of pathogens, as well as the properties and habitats of their carriers; (c) designing and creating pathogens using synthetic biology technologies; (d) research and development of means and methods for indicating and identifying pathogens - causative agents of new, rare and (or) infectious and parasitic diseases not previously encountered on the territory of the Russian Federation; conducting scientific research aimed at reducing the spread of infectious and parasitic diseases, including: (a) the emergence and spread of new infections, the introduction and spread of rare and (or) infectious and parasitic diseases not previously found on the territory of the Russian Federation, the emergence and spread of natural focal, recurrent and spontaneous infections; and (b) studying the mechanisms of the emergence of antimicrobial resistance and the development of antimicrobial drugs and alternative methods, technologies and means of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases of humans, animals and plants.
