Abstract
Industrial waterworks shall be intended dams, structures (embankments) enclosing storage facilities for liquid waste from industrial organizations, spillway, water discharge and water outlet structures, tunnels, canals, pumping stations, devices against erosion on canals, as well as other hydraulic structures designed to prevent the harmful effects of water and liquid waste on the environment. Monitoring the safety of industrial waterworks is a set of constant (continuous) observations of the state of safety of hydraulic structures and the nature of the impact of hazardous factors on the environment. These Methodological Recommendations envisage recommended procedure for the development, approval and composition of design documentation for monitoring the safety of industrial waterworks storing liquid waste at production facilities, sites and organizations, supervised by the State Technical and Mining Inspectorate, that carry out the design, construction, reconstruction, commissioning, operation, decommissioning and conservation of industrial waterworks storing liquid industrial waste. The objects of monitoring can be both structures (facilities) as a whole: dams (embankments), settling ponds, pumping stations, slurry pipelines and water conduits, anti-seepage screens along the bottom of the storage tank, interfluves and channel diversion channels, emergency tanks, spillway wells, collectors, water-discharge structures and channels, etc., as well as their components (structural elements). The following sections are usually included in the project for monitoring the safety of industrial waterworks: (a) introduction; (b) general characteristics of industrial waterworks; (c) composition, volume and functions of industrial waterworks safety monitoring system; (d) estimate documentation; and (e) appendices (drawings).
