Abstract
In order to strengthen the control over the quality and security imported food. The Government of the Russian Federation decrees to validate the Regulation providing for the information in Russian for all the imported foodstuff. The Ministry of Foreign Trade, the State Committee for standardization, Metrology and Certification, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food are entitled to put into effect this Regulation and modify all the normative laws and legislative acts that regulate wholesale and retail trade of foodstuff. This Decree establishes that from the 1st of May 1997 is prohibited the distribution of foodstuff on the territory of the Russian Federation without labelling in Russian.
