Ministerial Decree No. 164 validating the Regulation on the Ministry of Agriculture.

This Ministerial Decree establishes that the Ministry of Agriculture shall be the Federal Executive Body carrying out the state policy in agro-industrial sector, including stockbreeding, veterinary, plant cultivation, plant quarantine, land reclamation, soil fertility, management of agricultural land, food and fish processing, alcohol and tobacco, hunting and the state services in agro-industry. The Ministry shall have plenary powers as regards: (a) management of wildlife and fish species authorized for hunting and fisheries; (b) pedigree stockbreeding; (c) registration of selection achievements in stockbreeding and seed growing, pesticides, agrochemicals, animal feed and food additives, including GMO; and (d) veterinary rules and regulations.
