Ministerial Decree No. 921 validating the Regulation on fisheries for research and control purposes.

This Ministerial Decree establishes the modalities of fisheries by scientific research organizations for research and control purposes in inland waters, territorial sea, EEZ and continental shelf of the Russian Federation, Sea of Azov and Caspian sea from fishing vessels flying the flag of the Russian Federation and registered in the ports of the Russian Federation. The purpose of the aforesaid fisheries shall be study of aquatic biological resources and natural habitats thereof, state monitoring of aquatic biological resources, search for new fishing areas and new species of aquatic biological resources subject to fisheries, assessment of fish stocks and elaboration of prevention arrangements for the conservation of aquatic biological resources and natural habitats thereof. The aforesaid fisheries shall be carried out in accordance with annual plans elaborated by scientific research organizations and institutions and validated by the Federal Fisheries Agency.
