Ministerial Decree No. 987 regarding state supervision and control in the field of ensuring quality and safety of foodstuffs.

The Government decrees to validate the Regulation on state supervision and control in the field of ensuring quality and safety of foodstuffs. The Regulation determines the modalities of carrying out state supervision and control in the field of ensuring quality and safety of foodstuffs (including infant food, dietary food, food additives and biologically active additives ; bottled potable water, spirits, beverages and chewing gum), materials and manufactured articles contacting foodstuffs and used for processing, packaging, storage, transportation and trade of foodstuffs (including technological equipment and devices, crockery and kitchen utensils) and utilization or annihilation of unqualitative and injurious products. State supervision and control in the field of ensuring quality and safety of foodstuffs must be carried out by subdivisions of state sanitary and epidemiological service, state veterinary service, state trade inspection, state committee on standardization and metrology and state trade inspection within the sphere of their competence and in accordance with the delimitation of plenary powers established by the Government of the Russian Federation.
