Ministerial Decree No.390 of 2001 regarding validation of the Regulation on determination of total allowable catch of aquatic biodiversity.

This Regulation establishes the modalities of calculation of total allowable catch in the inland waters, internal sea, territorial sea, continental shelf and EEZ of the Russian Federation, as well as in the Azov sea and in the Caspian sea, and in the lower reaches of the rivers flowing into them. Total allowable catch is quantitative index of possible withdrawal of marketable species and is fixed on the basis of the state of aquatic biodiversity for the purpose of ensuring conservation of biodiversity, stock enhancement and sustainable existence. Total allowable catch is fixed for all marketable species. The list of marketable aquatic biodiversity species is validated by Federal Fisheries Committee in accordance with the Ministry of Natural Resources.
