Ministerial Decree No.823 of 1996 regarding the modalities of state registration, replenishment, storage, trade, sending, export and import of wildlife collections.

The Government decrees that state registration of wildlife collections of scientific, research, cultural and instructive, teaching and educational and aesthetic value, as well as some notable collection exhibits irrespectively of the form of property and keeping register of wildlife collections must be carried out by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources. Expert groups must determine scientific, cultural and instructive, teaching and educational and aesthetic value of wildlife collections in accordance with the Regulation on wildlife collections validated by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources. Export and import of wildlife collections (either recorded or not in the register of wildlife collections) are permitted in accordance with the authorizations issued by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources.
