Ministerial Decree No.866 of 1997 "On state inspection on trade, quality standards and the protection of consumers' rights attached to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade."

The Government decrees to introduce the following amendments to the Ministerial Decree No.501 of 1993: 1). To substitute the wording "Committee on Trade of the Russian Federation" with the wording "Ministry of External Economic Relations". 2). Item 2 of the paragraph 2 Acquires a new wording. It reads as follows: "Running costs for the maintenance of the above-mentioned Inspection are allotted out of the Federal Budget on the basis of expenditure item regarding financing of state administration, as well as out of other sources within the framework of the Russian Legislation". Officials of State inspection on trade, quality standards and the protection of consumers' rights are liable for prosecution in accordance with the legislation currently in force for non-fulfilment or improper fulfilment of their duties. The head of the Department of state inspection on trade, quality standards and the protection of consumers' rights that is Chief State Inspector on Trade is appointed and dismissed by the Government as the head of State inspection on trade, quality standards and the protection of consumers' rights.
