Order No. 264 of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources regarding validation of the Regulation on the modalities of cooperation of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources and its territorial (local) branches in the sphere of organization of protected areas.

Territorial branches of the Ministry of Environmental Protection at the regional level shall set up specialized units for the purpose of organization and management of protected areas. Setting up of new protected areas, nature reserves and national parks shall be carried out in conformity with the regional schemes validated by the regional executive bodies of RF subjects. The Regulation consists of 7 Sections. Section 1 lays down the general provisions. Section 2 establishes the modalities of carrying out cooperation in the sphere of setting up new national parks and protected areas. Section 3 determines the modalities of carrying out cooperation in the sphere of management of protected areas. Section 4 determines the modalities of carrying out cooperation in the field of control over the functioning of national parks and protected areas that do not make part of the system of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources. Section 5 establishes the modalities of cooperation in the field of keeping up cadastre of protected areas. Section 6 regards the modalities of ensuring legal foundations for the functioning of protected areas. Section 7 establishes the modalities of carrying out cooperation in the field of professional preparation and raising the level of professional skill of the personnel.
