Order No. 525 of the Ministry of Agriculture validating the Regulation on equipping of vessels with technical control devices, their types, requirements to their use and the procedure for monitoring the operation of technical control devices.

This Regulation establishes the procedure for application of mandatory requirements to shipowners related to equipping of vessels with technical control devices of self-propelled vessels with the main engine with a capacity of more than fifty five kilowatts and a gross tonnage more than eighty tons, which have been granted the right to navigate under the state flag of the Russian Federation, carrying out coastal and/or industrial fisheries. The equipment of vessel with technical control devices must ensure automatic transmission of information and data about the vessel's location during the period vessel's operational status. Technical control devices shall be recognized as providing for automatic formation and continuous transmission from any part of the World Ocean of non-corrected data, including data on current vessel's geographic coordinates, heading, speed (in knots), the date and universal coordinated time (UTC) of their determination (Vessel's Position Report), the identification data of the technical control devices under the conditions of functioning of the equipment included in it during the period of the vessel's operational status.
