Order No. 69 of the Ministry of Agriculture validating the Regulation on fisheries for research and control purposes.

This Order regulates fisheries in the internal waterbodies of the Russian Federation, including internal sea, territorial sea, continental shelf and EEZ, and also in the Caspian sea and the Sea of Azov. Fisheries for research purposes shall be carried out in accordance with fishing permits issued by the Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service and within the limits of quotas set for the Russian Federation in the fishing areas covered by the international conventions. The purpose of fisheries for research and control purposes shall be carried out for the purpose of study and biological resources and their habitats, monitoring of aquatic biological resources, determination of total allowable catch and designation of stock enhancement arrangements. Fishing gear and other technical means, fishing methods, fishing areas and fishing seasons must comply with the scope and the purposes of scientific research.
