Order No.620 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food regarding validation of the Regulation on organization of protection of agricultural plants in the Russian Federation.

The Minister, for the purpose of carrying out integral state policy in the field of protection of agricultural plants, seeds and planting material, agricultural commodities from diseases, pests and weeds, ensuring food security of the state, personal and environmental protection from hazardous impact of pesticides, orders to validate the Regulation. Protection of agricultural plants from pests, diseases and weeds is an integral part of state regulation of production, processing and trade of agricultural commodities, raw materials and food. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food entitles the Department of Plant-Growing, Chemicalization and Plant Protection with its subordinate subdivisions with the task of plant protection. Department of Plant-Growing, Chemicalization and Plant Protection is authorized to carry out state control and inspection over the implementation of normative legal acts and carrying out the arrangements for plant protection, safe handling of pesticides, organization of phyto-sanitary monitoring and scientifically grounded methods of exposure and elimination of crops contamination, plantations, soil, storage premises by pests and diseases, infection of soil with weeds, to prevent harvesting losses and negative impact of pesticides on human beings, cattle and environment.
