Regional Decree No. 1009-pp validating Regional state program of “Environmental Protection”.

Regional state program of “Environmental Protection” is aimed at: (a) creating a sustainable system for handling solid municipal waste, ensuring 100 percent waste sorting and reducing the volume of waste sent to landfills by 2 times; (b) reducing emissions of hazardous pollutants that have negative impact on the environment and public health by 2 times; and (c) elimination of the most dangerous objects of accumulated environmental harm and ecological improvement of waterbodies, including Lake Baikal.
The main priorities of this Regional state program are the solution of socio-economic problems that ensure environmentally oriented economic growth, maintaining favorable environment to meet the needs of current and future generations of citizens of the Russian Federation and the implementation of the rights of everyone to a favorable environment, as well as strengthening law and order in the field of environmental protection, ensuring environmental safety.
The implementation of tasks in the field of the Regional state program is carried out by performing (implementing) specific activities (results), included in the structural elements (regional projects, departmental projects, complexes of process activities) included into the Regional state program document system.
