Regional Law No. 165-OZ “On ecological education and formation of ecological culture”.

This Regional Law establishes the legal, organizational framework for the development of environmental education, creating conditions for the formation of ecological culture in the region, as well as defines the legal status of the participants of relations in the sphere of environmental education and environmental culture formation. The main directions of the state policy in the sphere of environmental education and environmental culture formation shall be as follows: (a) adoption of the regional normative legal acts aimed at improving relations in the field of environmental education and environmental culture; (b) inclusion of implementation and development of environmental education and environmental culture formation in The strategy of social and economic development of the region for the period up to 2035 and in regional state programs; (c) provision of state support to organizations, public associations active in the field of environmental education and environmental culture; (d) interregional and international cooperation in the field of environmental education and environmental culture formation; and (e) other methods established by the legislation of the Russian Federation and regional legislation. The main objectives of environmental education and formation of in the region shall be as follows: (a) formation of responsible attitude towards the environment; (b) formation of a knowledge system about environmental problems of modernity and the way to resolve them; and (c) development of a system of intellectual and practical skills on research, assessment and environmental improvement.
